Ciara made headlines on Tuesday when she announced her pregnancy on ‘The View,’ but a baby is not the only thing the performer has planned to deliver this year. In addition to motherhood, Ciara confirmed she is working on her next album, while speaking to Huff Post Live. Among topics including the Grammys, her deal with Degree and more the “Body Party” singer touched on becoming a mom and the baby’s gender.

While she didn’t say whether she was having a boy or a girl, she did say that her fiancé Future “got what he wanted.”

According to TMZ, Ciara is about seven months pregnant. She and Future plan to wed sometime this year. She also revealed that she started recording the follow-up to her 2013 album around Thanksgiving and plans to release “something really soon.”

When asked about Beyoncé, Ciara had nothing but kind words. “I respect any woman that works hard and gets success from the hard work that they put into it,” said CiCi, who will perform at the official Grammy after-party.

On her pregnancy: “It really is a blessing. It really is the most exciting time in my life. I do have a [gender] preference, but I don’t want to say that either. I did have a preference before I found out what it was. I had a preference at first and when I was told what it was I felt like it’s gonna be what it’s supposed to be. It was definitely different [than what I thought]. My fiancé got what he wanted. I’m excited.”

On her new album: “I’ve been recording on my album. I actually started around Thanksgiving of last year and I’m in the most comfortable creative space I could possibly be in. I actually will be giving my fans something really soon. I’m really excited about it because it’s so beautiful and really sweet.”

On Beyoncé: “I have a lot of respect for her. I respect any woman that works hard and gets success from the hard work that they put into it. For someone like her, she’s been around for almost 20 years, if I’m not mistaken, or at least a good 15. I’m going on 10 and so when I look at women like her, if anything, you can only get inspired when you see other women like yourself striving to achieve their goals. It’s great because it shows you exactly what you believe. I respect Beyoncé. I respect any woman that’s having success in this because it’s a really hard world to stand strong in, to keep on going and keep reinventing. We all do our own thing and I think that’s the great thing about it. What she and I do is completely different and I feel like there’s no comparison in reference to who we are as artists, which is really cool. There’s a world for all of us to be successful.”
