Chris Brown’s early Sunday morning arrest in Washington, D.C. has already become major entertainment news. Ahead of his scheduled court appearance today, Brown’s family, friends and fans arrived at D.C. Superior Court to support the R&B star.

One of which was Trey Songz, who performed this past Saturday at Howard University. According to WUSA 9, he yelled at U.S. Marshals to let him inside the courtroom. Extra U.S. Marshals then entered the hallway.

There were so many people in attendance that the judge asked for a bigger courtroom for the overflow crowd.

A lawyer for Brown’s bodyguard said it could be 5:30 p.m. EST before the judge called for the case.

The 24-year-old singer spent Sunday night in jail after he was accused of punching 20-year-old Isaac Parker in front of the W Hotel on Sunday morning.  TMZ reported Monday morning that there has been confusion over who threw the first punch in the altercation, and the police report initially described Chris’ bodyguard as the person who threw the punch, and further states Chris only jumped into the fight afterward.  A second draft of the report claims Chris was responsible for starting the fight.

They were also told police videotaped Chris, the bodyguard, the alleged victim, and other witnesses describing who hit whom during the melee. Law enforcement sources say they believe some of the people on tape may be shading the truth or outright lying, so the confusion may be a bonus for Chris.

Fans lined up outside the courthouse with signs that said “Leave Chris Brown Alone” and “Jesus Already Forgave Chris Brown.”
