TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine & Tank) are coming for the R&B throne.  The 3 veteran artists released their much-anticipated debut collaborative effort ‘3 Kings‘ last week to many happy fans and critical acclaim.  The 6-year wait since they first conceived the dream of releasing an album together has proven worth it, as the album has debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

According to Nielson Soundscan the album has shifted 76,457 in its first week on store shelves. An impressive debut for the R&B veterans, who fell behind John Mayer’s debut of Paradise Valley (143,582) and the second week domination of country singer Luke Bryan’s album Crash My Party (158,991).

The TGT album has been preceded by the singles “Sex Never Felt Better” and soaring ballad “I Need.” Many fans are already calling it the R&B album of the year (so far), and without a doubt a very stellar debut. Cheers to Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank and Atlantic Records for backing the project. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out our album review here.

In related R&B chart news, Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines‘ came in at No. 6 moving another 46,073 copies, putting his 4 week total at 336,625.  K. Michelle’s impressive debut ‘Rebellious Soul‘ sold another 22,534 copies last week, putting her 2 week total up to 94, 387.  Def Jam newcomer August Alsina released his first commercial EP ‘Downtown: Life Under The Gun‘ last week as well, moving 5,413.
