Usher Curates Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks and ESB Light Show

By

The Empire State Building and Macy’s partnered together to put on an Independence Day celebration like never before! The LED tower light show, created by world-famous lighting design artist Marc Brickman, was designed and choreographed to the music curated by Usher for the fireworks.

For the first time in its 37-year history, Macy’s invited a guest curator to create the musical backdrop for the 2013 fireworks show. Usher not only created an unforgettable playlist, the R&B superstar also had a hand in choreographing the fireworks display itself and made it a point to add his touch to every aspect of the show.

Usher’s 4th of July Fireworks playlist included Jimi Hendrix’s take on “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Kanye West, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, Frank Sinatra, and four songs performed by Usher: “Euphoria,” “Yeah!,” “OMG” and “Without You.”
