Can’t lie, a new Marques Houston song is the last thing we expect in the email or look forward to. However, the singer/actor is shedding any doubt with his comeback single “Give Your Love A Try” featuring buzzing west coast rapper Problem.
Houston teased fans last fall with the falsetto driven record “Speechless,” but has mostly been on a hiatus from music. As his fans on social media urged him to return, the 31-year old headed back into the studio to work on his forthcoming album entitled Famous, now due out August 27.
Houston says he wants to give the fans what they have been asking for, but he also wants to make sure it’s an album people can listen to from beginning to end. “If I was going to make another album, I wanted it to be a classic,” said the singer.
The formula Houston is following in the studio is a fusion of the past and the present,delivering a Marvin Gaye-meets-D’Angelo vibe. “This album has more of a live feel to it that people will really enjoy,” says Houston.
