Philly’s Power 99 “Neck On Deck” series highlights up and coming artists. It streams live on Power99.com, and is hosted by Mina SayWhat. The latest edition of the show featured one of our favorite new artists Sevyn Streeter. The rising R&B star spoke to Mina about her new solo career, past situation in the group RichGirl, signing with Chris Brown on his CBE label, her many writing credits while working with Chris, including Alicia Keys and Brandy, and the vibe of being on his team. She spoke about what we can expect from her upcoming debut album, finding the right balance between urban and pop, blending her church and R&B background with a Pop appeal. She also talked about being on tour with Beyoncé, and the whole experience.
Following the interview, Sevyn touched the stage for a live performance of her buzzing debut single “I Like It,” and treated the audience to a cover of Aaliyah’s “Come Over.” Peep the clips below:
