Akini Blake is new upcoming R&B singer/producer from the island of Trinidad & Tobago. Raised by his grandmother whom encouraged him to join the church choir and musical plays, at just 7-years old he stared reading and writing music. Once he migrated in the United States, a whole new world of music opened up. It was in Brooklyn, NY that he realized he wanted to be singer, with his influences of MJ, Luther, R. Kelly, Teddy Riley and more he began creating his own style and Akini Blake was born.
When asked ‘why get into the music business?’ Akini says, “I want to be immortal. When you lay lyrics to music, you leave footprints in history.” Akini has been getting his name out there working on records for rappers such as Vado, Maino & Fred The Godson. He recently released the video for his new single “With You,” which is a seductive song with dark tones about resisting the temptation of a certain dancer.
