Frank Ocean & Miguel Lead R&B Grammy Nominations

The Grammys relationship with R&B has been shaky as of the last couple of years, but the upcoming 55th Annual Awards, look to be a step in the right direction. While, the lack of categories still exists, some of R&B’s emerging mainstream acts are receiving the respect they deserve.

Frank Ocean and Miguel are leading the pack, as expected, each with multiple nominations, newcomers Luke James and Elle Varner both received noms, artists who recently made their return to music this past year Tyrese and Tamia will compete for “Best R&B Album” along with R. Kelly and Anthony Hamilton.

See the list of nominations for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards below. The live show takes places Sunday, February 10, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

    I’m pleased with this list. I love Miguel and Frank Ocean. I’m glad they’re getting recognition. I love Melanie Fiona as well. She is so underrated though!
