2013 NAACP Image Awards Announces List of Nominees

The 44th NAACP Image Awards have announced their list of nominees and R&B/Soul singers Alicia Keys, Miguel, and Elle Varner lead the nominations. Keys and Varner are both up for three nominations and Miguel has been nominated for two. Rising star Lianne La Havas earns a well deserved nomination in the Outstanding New Artist category. The late and great Whitney Houston is up for two nominations in the Outstanding Song category with R. Kelly for “I Look To You” and the Outstanding Album category for “I Will Always Love You: The Best Of Whitney Houston.”

The 44th NAACP Image Awards will air Friday, February 1, 2013 on NBC.
