Alicia Keys Lights Up Empire State Building

By

Alicia Keys made history Monday night as she celebrated the release of her new album Girl on Fire by lighting the Empire State Building. The R&B songstress turned the switch on NYC’s famed landmark building for its first ever light show, showing off the new LED lights. The synchronized light show played to her songs “Girl on Fire” and “Empire State of Mind (Part II).”

“Watching the Empire State Building light up with GOF and Empire State of mind was BEYOND my wildest dreams!!” said Alicia.

The lighting system, created by Philips Color Kinetics, can generate 16 million colors, and create effects such as ripples, bursts, sweeps, sparkles, cross-fades, strobes and chasers. Watch the light show below.

Have you heard ‘Girl On Fire’ yet? I heard Emeli Sande wrote a song for it.
