Black Girls Rock! 2012 Performances

BET returned with their accredited “Black Girls Rock!” award show and concert on Sunday night. The birthchild of Beverly Bond which highlights and honors African American woman in entertainment, business and community. This years event, taped on October 13, was held at New York City’s Loews Paradise Theatre, and was hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King. The nights entertainment included performances from many of R&B’s leading ladies, Alicia Keys, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, Ciara with Missy Elliot, SWV, India Arie and even some fellas this year, Eric Benet, Anthony Hamilton and newcomer Luke James.

New Music: The Weeknd – “Twenty Eight,” “Valerie” & “Till Dawn” (Previews)

The Weeknd will see the release of his first commercial album, Trilogy ,on November 13th. The 3 CD set, which contains the mastered versions of his three 2011 mixtapes, ‘House of Balloons,’ ‘Thursday‘ and ‘Echoes of Silence,’ will include the 3 brand new songs, “Twenty Eight,” “Valerie” and “Till Dawn (Here Comes The Sun).” The Canadian star has revealed some short previews of the new tunes in trailers for the album, but now you can hear some 1:30 minute snippets of his newest work. Syleena Johnson Introduces LakeShore

‘R&B Divas’ cast member Syleena Johnson recently revealed that she is currently developing a new R&B group named, Lake Shore. The group members of this R&B trio are Malone, SandyRedd and Tommie B. Lake Shore met Syleena while she was recording her album, Chapter V, and contributed with songwriting and background vocals. The new trio is currently in the studio working on their debut EP, and are ready to give R&B listeners something that they will enjoy.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Sit Courtside for Brooklyn Nets Opener

Power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé sat courtside at the Brooklyn Nets home game against the Toronto Raptors. Unfortunately, the Nets had to cancel their home opener against the Knicks at the new Barclays Center this past Thursday due to Hurricane Sandy, but it was all smiles after BK, defeated the Raptors 107-100. Chrisette Michele was there to sing the “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

John Legend, Fantasia, and Charlie Wilson to Perform at Soul Train Awards 2012

The Soul Train Awards 2012 have announced that John Legend, Fantasia, and Charlie Wilson as the first performers of this years lineup. In addition, Soul Train legend Jody Watley and recording artist Keri Hilson will also join the list of presenters with previously announced host, Cedric the Entertainer. The Soul Train Awards 2012 will premiere simultaneously on BET and Centric on Sunday, November 25th at 9pm ET.
