Miguel Reveals “Kaleidoscope Dream” Tracklisting

Miguel has taken a unique approach for the release of his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream. Letting fans slowly consume the material as he feels fit, releasing two micro EPs of songs off the LP before it officially hits stores on October 2. The first of which “Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview” is out now, with ‘The Air Preview’ hitting iTunes on September 11. To keep fans in the loop the LA native has now revealed the official tracklisting for the full project. The 11 song set is preceded by the first single “Adorn,” and is expected to boast production from Salaam Remi, Pop & Oak, and Jerry Wonda.

The final full-length album will combine the two digital EPs with five additional songs. Check out the list below…

Beyonce Shares Feelings about World Humanitarian Day on Anderson Cooper

Prior to shooting the music video for “I Was Here,” at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York, Beyoncé sat down with Anderson Cooper for CNN’s “AC360.” The megastar spoke about dedicating the song and video to World Humanitarian Day and making an impact in others’ lives.

“It says, ‘I want to leave my footprints in the sands of time’ and it basically is all of our dreams,” said B of the Diane Warren-penned ballad. “And that’s leaving our mark on the world. I feel like we all want to know that our life meant something.”

Photos: Austin Brown Performs at BET Music Matters in NYC

Tuesday night, Austin Brown made his performance debut in New York City for BET Music Matters showcase at Santos Party House. The ‘backpack kid’ himself was introduced by soul singer Charles Perry, who got the crowd hype. The LA native stormed the stage, with his wild dance moves, backed by his full band, they wasted no time getting the house rockin.

Austin introduced himself for the very first time to many in the crowd, as he showed off his multiple performance talents, and guitar skills. Though the set was fairly short, it was easily his latest single, the hand-clap, fast paced jam, “Menage a Trois,” which had the building shaking. Earlier in the day Brown introduced the music video on BET’s ’106 & Park’ along with his new manager Jermaine Dupri.

New Music: Willie Taylor feat. Dondria – Not Mine

Former member of Day 26, Willie Taylor is stepping his solo grind up, following the new song “Instragram Ya Body” featuring his cousin Jeremih, he has returned with Dondria for a brand new duet – “Not Mine.” The young R&B up and comers share feelings of needing to solidify a physical relationship on the sexually charged, smooth slow jam, produced by B. Alexander.

Willie will release his mixtape “The Reintroduction of Willie Taylor” on September 18.

New Music: Timothy Bloom – Live Without Her

Yesterday, we featured the brand new “Discovery” project, presented by our friends at TheNext2Shine.com. If you missed it, or skipped over the post (click here), check out one of the must-hear world premieres, from up and coming singer/musician Timothy Bloom. The crooner shows off some intensely soulful vibes with the old school love song “Live Without Her.”

TGT (Tank, Ginuwine, Tyrese) Sign with Atlantic Records, Album Due Next Year

We have been covering the news of the TGT (Tank, Ginuwine, Tyrese) project as the R&B singers have come back together to work on the delayed project. As things are continuing to positively progress the trio have officially signed a deal with Atlantic Records for the album!  In a recent interview with our friends at YKIGS, Ginuwine mentioned they have about 10 songs so far, and plan to record around 30-35.

During an interview at this past ESSENCE Music Festival, Tyrese explained, “We’re just gonna mold and shape the spirit of R&B and remind [people] why they fell in love with R&B in the first place.”

Bryan Michael Cox Addresses ’10 Gripes’ about R&B Music Today, Stands Up for Trey Songz & Ne-Yo

Anyone reading this site should know the name Bryan Michael Cox, for his work and achievements in R&B and music in general. It is clear that the majority of R&B fans are not happy with the status of the genre, between either the lack of love it receives in the mainstream space, or of the music itself. AOL’s The Boombox has taken a step in having a connected insider and professional offer his take on ’10 Gripes’ from fans and listeners.

R&B fans have one very valid argument: the genre has abandoned rhythm and blues for hip-hop and house. R&B does seem to have lost its endearing quality — trading stories of love and passion for some of the more tawdry elements of other music categories. Some supporters say that the issue is with specific artists while others dispute that R&B wholly needs a complete overhaul.

Whatever the issue, The BoomBox has compiled 10 gripes from folks and enlisted one of the genre’s most respected songwriters and producers, Bryan-Michael Cox, to address the increasingly pressing matters of R&B.

New Music: Jacquees feat. August Alsina – Scared To Go

Atlanta based up and coming teen R&B artist, Jacquees, partners with New Orleans native and newly signed Def Jam artist, August Alsina for a brand new buzz track titled, “Scared To Go.” The smooth, guitar lead cut was produced by Dah One & Only. It will be featured on his forthcoming mixtape, “Fan Affiliated,” that drops on August 29.
