We need more young ladies in R&B/Soul right now, matter of fact we need more young people in general, but here is something fresh for your headphones. By way of LA, 20-year old newcomer Lucille Ghatti premieres her sophomore mixtape “High Grade.”
According to RESPECT, the title comes from Ms. Ghatti’s progression as a singer and artist, and also from her love of the greenery. On Twitter, she goes by @LoudPackLucy, and her music clearly can act as a soundtrack for more cloudy, enlightened times.
High Grade has a unique take on soul and R&B. There has been a gap in music for quite sometime in the R&B Genre. Rhythm and blues is the language of lovers, humans.. basically anyone who can feel. The goal of this project was to evoke the feeling of Nostalgia, as well as slap in your speakers. Play the album straight through, and smoke to it , Meditate if you want. Lucille recorded High Grade in 3 weeks out of raw emotion , and lots of THC from a far left corner in her brain. The Album Features, Mike G. IllCamille , MidTownPat, The Highlights, GoldSmith, and Tay Walker.

Veteran R&B group Mint Condition are once again proving classic R&B still lives today. The quintet just premiered the brand new music video for “Believe In Us,” the first single off their forthcoming eighth album, Music @ the Speed of Life, due later this year.
In the G. Visuals-directed clip, the five crooners show up with their respective special ladies, asking the question, “Do you believe in us?” They laugh over drinks and cruise down the street in a pricey ride as the soulful fivesome — Stokley Williams, Ricky Kinchen, Homer O’Dell, Larry Waddell and Jeffrey Allen — belt out their lines.
“We love all our music babies but it’s unanimous,” Mint Condition tells The BoomBox. “We all feel Music @ the Speed of Life is our best since Definition of a Band. It’s fresh and modern, musically challenging and always a nod to the past.”
New York based singer-songwriter and producer I/O (Ayo Olatunji), has come together with DJBooth for the release of his sophomore project, “Isolation,” featuring the Jordan Ware-produced lead single “Strangers” and stand out selection “We’ll Always Be.”

John Legend, who collaborated with his brother on the track “Hold Me Down” shared, “When it comes to my younger brother, he’s got to prove that he can stand on his own. I want him to be out there flourishing as soon as possible. Musically I feel like he’s ready to do it.”
