This took place during the Essence Music Festival, but Raheem just released it online. If you didn’t know the R&B Hippie has a radio show, and while down in New Orleans for the festival, he caught up with fellow R&B singers Tank & Tyrese. The crooners spoke further about their joint group TGT, with Ginuwine, and plans and progress for their first official album.
Tyrese also announced he is working on a new book with Rev Run titled ‘Manology‘ which he summed up as “bold, raw, uncomfortable truth,” further describing it as “nothing politically correct…we can’t save lives from lying to people and trying to say stuff safely.”
The singer/actor/author also shared some feelings toward R&B at the moment, “[albums] are over-saturated with appearances…and then you got 30 different producers working on one album, the spirit and the inconsistency of the album is ALL over the place.” In regards to the TGT project, “We are working with 2 producers on the whole album, including [Tank] and we’re just gonna mold and shape the spirit of R&B and remind [people] why they fell in love with R&B in the first place.”
In the most recent clip from Trey Songz interview with Amaru Don TV during his past London promo trip, the R&B star speaks about how involved he is with her own “brand” and “business.” Although he is always watching and researching how the music industry is working, and claims to know every number and stat of his personal companies, those pieces of information still have no bearing on how he creates his product and it never will.
And the press and negative attention continues for R&B singer Brian McKnight, following the release of his much-talked about “adult” song “If Ur Ready 2 Learn” aka “Let Me Show You How Your P**sy Works.”
In a recent statement the 43-year old announced he would never perform the song, and while he believes it is musically incredible, it should remain in the bedroom. “If I learned anything from this experiment, it’s that people aren’t very smart and they take themselves very seriously,” McKnight said.
