Blige’s protégé, Starshell, releases a brand music video for her party single “Birthday Girl.” The fun, lively visual was shot as a trip to Las Vegas, which finds the Matriarch Entertainment singer celebrating guess what? Starshell is currently working on debut album entitled Liberation, which has also spawned the single Superluva.

TheLifeFiles recently caught up with The-Dream, during the video shoot for his brand new single “Dope Bitch” in Los Angeles, and spoke with him regarding the use of the “N” word in music and our culture today. The conversation was sparked due to the recent gossip of Gwyneth Paltrow tweeting the word during the ‘Watch The Throne’ tour in Paris. It’s been more than a year since we’ve heard new music from Marsha Ambrosius. Her first solo album, Late Nights & Early Mornings, debuted at #2 and earned the British songbird two Grammy nominations. She recently spoke with ESSENCE, revealing plans and details on her anticipated sophomore release.
Kelly Rowland is back on the Euro scene with a new campaign for Bacardi Rum, who is celebrating their 150 year anniversary, and a forthcoming remix to the hit song “Summer Dreaming,” which was originally performed by Kate Yania over a decade ago and held the number one spot in the music charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The former Destiny Child’s singer first heard the song after attending an Bacardi anniversary party in January 2012, and became interested in remixing the song with Project B. “The song and its history enthralled me right away. My aim was to record a joyful, colourful, sexy song and give it a bit of soul quality. The collaboration with BACARDÍ was so much fun. We had an awesome time recording the song.” said Rowland.
The song will be released following an official launch party in Berlin, Germany on July 8, where Kelly and Project B will give a live performance of the “Summer Dreaming 2012″ club mix in front of 250 VIP guests.
