New Music: Ciara feat. 2 Chainz – Sweat

Ciara returns with her brand new single, “Sweat,” the first release off her upcoming album One Woman Army, due later this year on Epic Records. CiCi recruits buzzin rapper 2 Chainzzz! to heat up the bass-heavy track, which will be available June 19 on iTunes. The singer-dancer recently told MTV that she has been in the lab with “Ride” producer Tricky Stewart, as well as The Underdogs’ Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas working on the LP.

Elle Varner Celebrates Black Music Month With Michael Jackson

Elle Varner is celebrating Black Music Month in June by praising the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The Los Angeles native, who currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y., sat down with The BoomBox to express her sentiments about why the legendary entertainer was “fearless” in his artistry.

“He blurred that line of ‘What is black music?’” Varner states. “He truly represents the concept of being an artist and not just a singer.”

Varner, whose own soulful vocals can be heard on her forthcoming RCA Records debut album, Perfectly Imperfect, also shares how Jackson inspires her to “go against the grain” and the song of his she fancies most.

Akon Debuts New Single “America’s Most Wanted” on Miss USA Competition

Akon picked the perfect stage to introduce his brand new single “America’s Most Wanted,” at Sunday night’s 2012 Miss USA Pageant. During the “Final Look” portion of the competition the dapper hitmaker debuted the brand new song off his upcoming album, Stadium, due September 11. “You’re America’s most wanted tonight/ I’ll do my 25 to life if I can have you by my side,” sings Akon on the Auto-Tuned record.

Rihanna Refills With Vita Coco Campaign

Rihanna is putting a sweet twist on Vita Coco’s latest campaign. The Bajan beauty has collaborated with the coconut water brand for the second time, on its new Tropical Fruit flavor. A blonde singer rocked a custom-made pineapple print bikini top with matching shorts and blouse as she shot with famed photographer Terry Richardson.

“This time it’s a little more fun,” said the pop diva, who previously starred in Vita Coco’s 2011 campaign. “We’re on a stage. We get to shoot it with Terry Richardson, who’s an amazing photographer. Everybody knows his work. He’s known for his fun shoots and personality.”

The campaign features the tagline “Viva Vita,” Vita Coco’s message about having fun, celebrating life, and living it to the fullest. Billboard, radio, digital, and in-store advertising will launch starting this month in the U.S. and U.K.
