Earlier this year, the R&B gentleman made the move from Def Jam to Motown, where he holds the title of Senior VP of A&R. The follow-up to 2010’s Libra Scale is due September 18!

Eric Benet opens up his studio for the cameras, as he talks about his forthcoming album The One, breaks down two of the singles, “Real Love” and the Lil Wayne assisted “Redbone.” In a chill, but excited manner he also speaks about having his own record label now, and releasing his first independent album,
“This album is different because it’s my first independent release, it’s something that I’ve always dreamed about doing, stated Eric. “It just feels so good man, just to have your own thing, and be doing it your way, “Real Love,” the single just broke the top 10, and when that happens, and it’s really yours, and the record label doesn’t own the master, you own it, it just means that much more.”
