JHENE AIKO SPEAKS ON HER DEF JAM DEBUT ALBUM

Speaking with TheWellVersed at the 2012 Gearfest Fashion Show & Concert at USC, Jhené Aiko revealed that her upcoming Def Jam debut, “Souled Out,” may actually drop sooner than expected, just maybe in time for some Summer nights.

“It’s a little different now when the label’s involved, everybody has to be on the same page and the same time line,” said Jhené. “Very soon; I’m trying to really get it out by summer – I’m not going to give any dates yet – but very soon,” explained Jhene. BRANDY INTRODUCES NEW LOOK & TALKS “TWO ELEVEN” ALBUM

Brandy is setting her gears in motion to begin the process of promotion for her eagerly-awaited comeback album Two Eleven. The sixth studio album from 33-year old singer/actor is scheduled to be released this coming June, along no first single has been announced yet. In a brand new interview with YRB magazine Brandy opened up about the inspiration behind the album title, which stands for her birth day and the day she lost her mentor, icon Whitney Houston. She also shows off a new image in the photoshoot.

MELANIE FIONA TALKS COLLABORATIONS WITH B.O.B, NAS, JOHN LEGEND & PERFORMS ON WALMART SOUNDCHECK

Big shout to our friends at HHNM who received this exclusive interview with Melanie Fiona, during her recent visit and performance on Walmart Soundcheck. The lovely songstress discussed the collaborations on her must-have album The MF Life (in stores now), including “Change The Record” with B.o.B, “Running” with Nas and “L.O.V.E” featuring John Legend. She also announced her favorite song on the LP is “Wrong Side of A Love Song.”

MARY J. BLIGE STARS IN NEW BURGER KING COMMERCIAL & “ANOTHER ROUND REMIX”

Woord! Now, I’m mad I just ate because this makes me actually want to visit my local BK for the first time this year. The Queen is getting that check with her brand new feature and appearance in the latest Burger King commercial for their Chicken Snack Wrap. Even though this seems like an April Fools joke (god I hope it was), Mary singing in the kitchen would make so many employees days! Check out the comedic commercial below…

VIDEO: MELODY THORNTON – SMOKING GUN

Melody Thornton continues on the promo trail for her critically acclaimed mixtape, “P.O.Y.B.L.” The former Pussycat Dolls singer shows her cinematic side in the dramatic, seductive visual for “Smoking Gun.” Speaking about the video Mel said, “Smoking Gun is one of the four original songs on my mixtape P.O.Y.B.L. It’s always fun to play dress up and for this video I took inspiration from the tortured Mob Wives in the notorious movie GoodFellas.”

Directed by Hyperballad, who added, “We were moved by the bittersweet undertones of the track and collaborated with cinematographer George Su, to capture a nostalgic style influenced by classic pulp films.”

VERSE SIMMONDS REVEALS “SEX LOVE & HIP-HOP” MIXTAPE COVER & TRACKLISTING

Singer/Songwriter Verse Simmonds is prepping the release of his latest mixtape, entitled “Sex Love & Hip-Hop.” The “Boo Thang” hitmaker has just revealed the official cover artwork for the project, which is slated to drop on April 12. The free-release, hosted by DJ Drama, has already spawned the songs “Keep It 100” featuring Akon, and the seductive “Talk That.”

UPDATE: Verse has now revealed the final tracklisting for the free release. The 11-track mixtape also will include the new song “Bad Mutha” featuring Snoop Dogg, “Who Do You Love” featuring Musiq Soulchild and production from Sak Pose. View the tracklisting below, and stay tuned for the official release next week on April 12.

NEWS: ADELE WANTS TO DO A DUET WITH BEYONCE

In a brand new interview with French Radio NRJ, Adele expressed her interest in collaborating on a duet with Beyonce, for a future project.

When asked who she would love to do a duet with Adele stated, “I always wanted to do a duet with Etta James, but sadly you know she passed, so I probably would take Beyonce. So yea, for living [artists], Beyonce, I’ve been listing to her since I was 11, I adore her, I love everything that she stands for. I think her work as an artist and as a singer is enviable, in terms of the length of her career and how she has grown and grown.”
