NEW MUSIC: MACY GRAY – LOVE LOCKDOWN (COVER)
Macy Gray keeps her love locked down on an odd rendition of Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak single. The Grammy-winning artist sings her funky reinterpretation over a sample of Nina Simone’s 1967 record “Buck.” Macy’s version, along with covers of Metallica, Arcade Fire, and the Eurythmics, will appear on her Covered album, due March 26.
ASHANTI REVEALS OFFICIAL “BRAVEHEART” ALBUM COVER
As expected, the official album cover for Ashanti’s anticipated, comeback album follows the previously released promo image. The fifth studio album from the Long Island, NY native entitled BraveHeart, is scheduled for release on April 24, via her own label Written Entertainment.
Ashanti strikes a bold, warrior princess pose on the dramatic cover. The follow-up to 2008’s The Declaration, which was inspired by the Oscar-winning film Braveheart, is rumored to boast collaborations with R. Kelly, Keyshia Cole, and of course Busta Rhymes on the lead single “The Woman You Love.”
NEW MUSIC: CASELY – KEEP
We haven’t heard much from Casely in a while, but the singer/songwriter/musician is back with a brand new single entitled “Keep.” The self-produced, electro R&B track features samples of Skrillex and Elle Goulding. Take a listen to Casely’s futuristic sound below… What do you think?
VIDEO: TREY SONGZ – SEX AIN’T BETTER THAN LOVE
Trey Songz premieres the video for his grown and sexy ballad “Sex Ain’t Better Than Love,” in which he sings about the joys of being a one-woman man, and making love to someone he is truly committed to.
As the singer describes in exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, the video reveals the importance of the choices we make. The split-screen clip follows the singer as he travels two paths: in one, he prioritizes sex, and in the second, love.
“In life you make decisions, and you never get to see what would happen if you made a different choice,” says Songz.
“We see two sides of Trey,” describes director Juwan Lee. “There’s a ‘Sex Trey’ who meets all these different girls and his storyline moves seamlessly but the girls change in and out. The other story is a love story, where Trey meets a beautiful girl at a party and we see the development of their relationship.”

ROBIN THICKE & ESTELLE PERFORM ON ‘RIP THE RUNWAY’
BET’s “Rip the Runway” special featured plenty of performances from Hip-Hop and R&B’s freshest faces mixed with the latest fashion.
