Since Whitney Houston’s untimely passing, both her daughter Bobbi and aunt Dionne Warwick have spoken to members of the media about the fallen icon. But one person who’s remained silent throughout this mourning period is Houston’s own mother, Cissy. Now, the gospel singer is breaking her silence, in a pre-taped interview with New Jersey station My9 during their 10 O’Clock News on Mon., April 2, AOL Music reports.
Drake has never been shy about his love for Aaliyah. The “Take Care” rapper has tattooed the late singer’s face on his back and sampled her song on his debut Thank Me Later. While he never got a chance to work with her while she was alive, he revealed that a posthumous collaboration may be in the works.
“I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon. Some special things,” the 25-year-old told Tim Westwood.
When asked if it had to do with a rumored posthumous project of her unreleased recordings, he remained coy. “Just some special things, you know. Great things for music, period.”
Drizzy shared his admiration for the “Try Again” songstress, who passed away at the age of 22. “I think more than anything Aaliyah always made music that was never uncomfortable for me to listen to,” he explained.
“You know it’s hard for me to ride around to a female singer because at the end of the day, you’re a man, but she always kept it so G with the writing and the melodies. It was something to ride to, especially when it was chopped and crewed. That’s when I used to love Aaliyah the most.”

Earlier this month Monica delivered a performance for AOL Sessions, which will debut on TheBoombox.com April 5. Chris Brown keeps it uber cool in the newly unveiled single cover for his brand new song, “Sweet Love.” In a shot taken from his album photo shoot, Breezy sits in his shiny suit and leather driving gloves, backed by long legged, jumpsuit donning models. The image doesn’t exactly portray a “sweet love,” more like a “cold” one, but it is still a sexy pic.
