WHITNEY HOUSTON’S LAST SONGS TO BE FEATURED IN ‘SPARKLE’ FILM

The last songs Whitney Houston recorded will be heard in the film “Sparkle,” one on camera and the other during the closing credits. Houston sings the gospel classic “Eyes on the Sparrow” in the film and duets with Jordin Sparks, the film’s star, on a new R. Kelly song, “Celebrate” over the end credits. The film is in post-production and on schedule; Sony Pictures has it scheduled for release in early August. RCA will release the soundtrack.

Houston recently finished her recording of “Celebrate.” Sony executives were pleased with both the way Houston looks and sounds in the film, according to a person familiar with the production.

BREAKING NEWS: WHITNEY HOUSTON DIES AT 48

The legendary Whitney Houston, Pop and R&B music’s reigning queen, has passed away at age 48. The singers publicist Kristen Foster told The Associated Press Saturday night.

The cause of death is currently unknown. It has been confirmed that Whitney died at 3:55 PM pacific time in her hotel room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton hotel.

News of Houston’s death came on the eve of music’s biggest night — the Grammy Awards. It’s a showcase where she once reigned, and her death was sure to cast a heavy pall on Sunday’s ceremony. Houston’s longtime mentor Clive Davis was to hold his annual concert and dinner Saturday; it was unclear if it was going to go forward.

CIARA SHOWS OFF NEW LOOK AT PRE-GRAMMY PARTY

Ciara showed off her new blonde look at RedZone Entertainment’s Pre-Grammy Party in West Hollywood last night. The R&B siren, who stars in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy That’s My Boy, sported two-toned hair and a lion-print dress as she caught up with hitmaker Tricky Stewart at Greystone Manor Supperclub. Birthday girl Kelly Rowland, who turns 31 today, and Christina Milian were also among those celebrating the kickoff to Grammy weekend.

TREY SONGZ TAKES FAN ON A ‘LOVE & BASKETBALL’ DATE

Earlier this week, many fans of Trey Songz got their hearts broken when pictures popped up of him and an unidentified chick boo’d up sitting courtside at a Cleveland Cavaliers vs. LA Clippers game together. Trigga also posted an instagram flick of this mystery woman with the caption ‘Flyyy’ which had fans wondering if he had a new girl. Before you go start putting in work with Google search, her name is Batoul Althefery and she won a date with Trey Songz through Z107.9 Hip-Hop Cleveland

Trey kicked off his Anticipation 2our this week in Cleveland and surprised the lucky winner by hanging out with her at the Cavs game before the show. To win, Batoul wrote a love letter explaining why she’s such a huge fan of Trey Songz and how he helped her through a very hard time in her life.
