The Hamilton Park boys are having a party with their new found fame, and it all went down for the video to the official remix for their debut single “Thing Called Us.” The R&B quartet got Jermaine Dupri to bless the slow jam with an energetic party track in classic SoSoDef form. We have been missing this style, glad to have it back! JD did his thing on this one! Check it out.

This is the first episode in our new visual series entitled “Rhythm & Blues.” The idea behind the segment is for artists to focus on and share details about their latest single, or a specific favorite song, and really discuss the background of the record, from the early stages of the production, to the thoughts and feelings behind the lyrics, and then the final product. Starting off the series is burgeoning singer/songwriter/producer Mateo.
In this edition of ThisisRnB Presents: Rhythm & Blues, Mateo breaks down his brand new single “Say It’s So” featuring Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz. The rising star talks about the initial production to the writing and thoughts behind his lyrics.
For those of you in the L.A. area Mateo will be co-headlining an intimate show at The Roxy tonight, alongside Diddy-Dirty Money star Dawn Richard, and up and coming singer/songwriter Stacey Barthe.
For those of you who haven’t yet heard. Singer/Songwriter and Soulstress Amel Larrieux will be gracing the stage at NYC’s ‘City Winery’ on October 27th. The smooth ex-Groove Theory vocalist will be doubling up for back to back shows, one at 6pm and one at 9:30pm.
This will sure be a fun night and soulful experience. Get your tickets now!
Singer/Songwriter Tank performs a heartfelt and touching acoustic, piano rendition of his new single “Compliments” in the lobby of the Atlantic Records offices in NYC. This sounded great, an official recording is needed for album bonus! Ladies, should listen to this every morning.
You can pick up “Compliments” on iTunes NOW! Tank’s fifth studio album, Savior, is coming this December.
T-Pain eases up on the Auto-Tune and shows a softer side in the dark video for “Drowning Again.” Back by an orchestra, Teddy P. pours his heart out at the piano as he croons the somber love song.
“Waves upon waves keep me down/ And I can’t get to the top/ But when I get there, I’ll still be nowhere ’cause I can’t find the one I love,” sings Pain, who will release his new album rEVOLVEr on December 6.
We bet you’ve never seen him like this before.
Mary J. Blige takes charge on set of the video for “25/8,” the first single from her upcoming album My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act I) (Nov. 21). Filmed by director Diane Martel, the R&B veteran puts on her red boots and takes to the streets of New York City. In an additional scene, she performs choreographed moves with her troupe of male dancers while dressed in the military-inspired uniform that she rocked on “Dancing With the Stars.”
“The song ’25/8’ is about not having enough time to spend with someone,” explained Mary of the Eric Hudson production. “It’s like the ultimate love when you’re having fun, time just seems to fly.”
Go behind the scenes with MJB and look for the video’s premiere later this month.
Trey Songz may be getting ready to release a really hot R&B mixtape, but the ladies man is sharing a new song off his new Hip-Hop tape first. A confident Trigga brags about his riches, addresses his relationship with his father (“And we don’t really talk, but I love him/ That’s my ni**a”), and kicks game to the ladies on the horn heavy “Hunnadz.” Check out the new joint below, and stay tuned for “#Lemmeholdatbeat 2″ and “Anticipation II” coming November 1st.
