NEW MUSIC: SOLANGE – FAVORS

Solange reaches into the vault and shares “Favors,” a previously unreleased song that she wrote four years ago while recording SoL-AngeL and The Hadley St. Dreams. “You know I love you, I love being your girl, but please don’t do me any favors,” she tells her lover on the delicate piano-driven tune.

“‘Favors’ is no way related to my album,” tweeted Solange, who was recently in the studio with Pharrell and is currently mixing her third album.

This is getting us in the mood for new music though, Solie. Don’t make us wait much longer.

NEW MUSIC: LABRINTH FEAT. TINIE TEMPAH – EARTHQUAKE

We first featured UK singer/songwriter/producer Labrinth about a year ago, with his video for “Let The Sun Shine.” Since signing with Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment the young artist has had quite a successful year. From creating hits for Tinie Tempah, Bluey Robinson (“Showgirl”) and more. I finally got a chance to check out his brand new single “Earthquake” featuring Tinie, and its a banger. Don’t expect typical R&B here, it’s more avant garde pop or dub pop, but well worth a listen.

R&B SINGER VESTA WILLIAMS FOUND DEAD IN HOTEL ROOM

Vesta Williams, the ’80′s R&B singer best known for her style and soulful voice, was found dead in her California hotel room last night.

The Ohio native enjoyed success throughout the ’80s and early ’90s, and is probably best known for her 1989 hit, “Congratulations.” Although Vesta never cracked the Top 40 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list, she scored six Top 10 hits on the US Billboard R&B chart – including a #2 hit.

Multiple bottles of prescription pills were found in the El Segundo, CA hotel room where the R&B singer died … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We’re told “several bottles” were discovered — some empty. Sources tell us the death is being treated as either an accident or suicide, but not a homicide. The coroner won’t know if drugs played a part in her death until the toxicology reports are in — and that could take 6 weeks.

CHRIS BROWN REWARDS GIRL WHO RETURNED HIS ROLEX

According to TMZ, Chris Brown’s word is his bond — weeks after the singer promised to reward the fan who returned his $22 thousand watch at the VMA’s he came through.

Breezy rolled through the fan’s hometown of Cincinnati last night, and he hooked the girl, Alisha, up with 2 great seats to his concert at the Riverbend Music Center.

Chris also met with Alisha to thank her face-to-face…then invited her to hang with him and his entourage before the show to eat some cake. And Chris threw in a signed picture for good measure.

As previously reported, CB accidentally tossed the diamond-encrusted Rolex into the crowd at the MTV awards last month … Alisha caught it and gave it to Chris’ bouncer.
