NEWS: THE NUMBERS ARE IN FOR BEYONCE’S ‘4’

By

After much speculation the sales figures for Beyonce’s anticipated fourth album, 4, have been released. Following the results of our poll, most of you were correct.

According to HitsDailyDouble, 4 has sold 313,420 units in it’s debut week on the charts, making it B’s lowest selling first week figure to date.

Sure to be this week’s Billboard 200 #1, the album received a stronger promotional push in the US this week after the airing of the documentary “Year Of 4,” show stopping performance on ‘Good Morning America’ and last nights performance at the Statue Of Liberty for Macy’s ‘4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.’

With the final sales number set to be released by Billboard tomorrow, the figure will be very close in appearance to the report by Hits Daily Double.

While 313,000+ units may not be what many of her fans (the Beyhive) were hoping for, it is worth noting that this is arguably very commendable. For this figure was achieved after a three week premature leak, just two weeks of intensive promotion and without the aid of a #1 single and the luxury of discounted prices. Sony reps have stated they plan to push the album for 18 months! All the way into 2012.

Did you purchase “4” yet? If not, will you be?
