NEW MUSIC: MARY J. BLIGE – THE LIVING PROOF

Mary J. Blige weathers the storm on “The Living Proof,” the theme song from the upcoming film The Help. The survivors’ anthem, produced by Harvey Mason Jr., is an understated piano-driven number written about Aibileen (Viola Davis), the main character who plays a maid living in Mississippi during the 1960s. The soundtrack will be available July 26 at Starbucks.

VIDEO: BOBBY V FREESTYLES OVER ‘MOTIVATION’ AND ‘I’M ON ONE’ ON TIM WESTWOOD

NEW MUSIC: TEEDRA MOSES – LUXURIOUS UNDERGRIND (MIXTAPE)

Singer/Songwriter Teedra Moses just released her Independence Day mixtape, “Luxurious Undergrind.” Her first official release since signing with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group.

After receiving critical praise for her 2004 debut, Complex Simplicity, her record label (TVT) folded before the release of her anticipated follow up, The Lioness. Since then, she’s kept busy writing for Mary J. Blige, Christina Milian (‘Dip It Low’) and Raphael Saadiq; along with releasing a couple of a well received mixtapes. Earlier this year, Moses was recruited by rapper, and admitted fan, Rick Ross for Maybach Music Group imprint. Ross has referred to the R&B chanteuse as his personal Anita Baker. Teedra Moses will finally release the long awaited Lioness next year. In the mean time check out her brand new, free mixtape below.

VIDEO: BEYONCE LIGHTS UP MACY’S ’4TH OF JULY SPECTACULAR’

Beyoncé showed her stars and stripes, performing on Macy’s 35th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular. With the Statue of Liberty in the background, a glamorous B graced the stage in a black gown to perform her single “Best Thing I Never Had” in front of an audience that included men and women of the armed forces. The patriotic songstress returned to celebrate America’s birthday with her Lee Greenwood cover “God Bless the U.S.A.” before fireworks exploded over New York’s Hudson River.
