MARY J. BLIGE RECORDS NEW SONG FOR “THE HELP”

Mary J. Blige has recorded a brand new song titled “The Living Proof” for the new movie ‘The Help’, due this August.

Mary watched an early screening of the movie and then went away and wrote the song for the final version.

‘The Help’ is set in 1960s-Mississippi and three women who embark on a secret writing project. “The beautiful thing about these women is that they were very smart,” says Blige in a statement. “They chose to walk in love and forgiveness.”

She says the movie is about the inspiration to change. “To speak to so many women with this song means a lot to me,” says Blige. “I wanted to be involved with this film, because I think we need to encourage each other more, we are here to tell a story.”

‘The Help’ is based on the #1 New York Times Best Seller and will star Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer.

It will premiere in American cinemas on August 12, 2011.
