NEW MUSIC: JOE – CLOSER

Joe Thomas is one of those artists that we can never count out. Since the release of his last album, 2009′s Signature, and the following Christmas album, the crooner has been touring and working on his forthcoming new studio album The Good, The Bad & The Sexy, which is slated to arrive July 26. I heard he has some really great records on it also, but as we await the first release, here is a new record he recorded for T.D. Jakes new compilation Sacred Love Songs, Vol. 2. Enjoy!


RAPHAEL SAADIQ ON KUBE 93′s SOUND SESSION

The legendary Raphael Saadiq joined DJ Hyphen and J. Moore from KUBE 93′s Sunday Night Sound Session while in Seattle on 4/13/11. The trio discussed Saadiq’s new “Stone Rollin” project, his musical progression, his career highlights, and much more.

In the first part of the interview, they focused on “Stone Rollin’,” the “neo” & “retro” soul tags heaped on his recent work, his creative process, and his collaboration with Little Dragon.

In the second part of the interview, they focused on his fondest memories of the Tony! Toni! Toné! and Lucy Pearl days, his proudest moment in music, his advice for young artists, and even playing basketball with Prince.

Oh Myy God!! I’m so proud of Frank Ocean right now, even though this isn’t an official video. Just think about how ill you have to be to have unofficial videos. This is probably more for the guys with the lovely female sharing her assets for the camera with “Songs for Women” acting as the soundtrack. Ahh Yess.
