John Legend and The Roots have teamed up with Indabamusic.com for a remix contest and a chance at $1,000 and some serious exposure! Honestly, what needs to be written about John Legend or The Roots? Both have reputations that far exceed the copious praise that has been bestowed upon them. Moreover, their passion for music is undeniable. In the past few months, the Roots have played venues of 50 people, and appeared with John Legend at the several hundred thousand strong Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. However, now these prolific artists provide a challenge. Take the beautifully written “Shine” from their new collaborative album Wake Up!, which has roots in the old soul of Earth, Wind and Fire, and put your own finish on it. Mr. Legend and ?uestlove are counting on you.
