Fabolous Says Collabo Project With Ne-Yo Is Coming

By

In a recent interview with XXL, Fabolous not only revealed he’ll release a brand new mixtape entitled “S.O.U.L.” (all records with soul samples and no DJ drops), but the Brooklyn spitter also stated that his collaborative album with Ne-Yo, which has been a long time in the making, will finally be recorded later this year. As you may know, they were in talks to have the project produced entirely by Ryan Leslie. Shout to Kingz.

Here’s what he said about the project:

“I think this year too I might be doing this project with Ne-Yo finally,” he told XXL. “We’ve been in talks for a minute. It’s really sounding like it’s gonna get done. Ne-Yo is really hyped about it. I just fell back on it, but now I see the wheels are turning a little bit. I think we need that for the game. Some of the allure from the game is gone. You see people doing less numbers, so now let’s do some vanity projects where people are collaborating together.”

Comments and rumors of them really making this happen have been floating around for a few years now. It would still be a very exciting project if they can do it though. We all know how super talented Ne-Yo is, and Fab is definitely one of the best rappers of the last decade+. Uniquely gifted with his R&B remixes, and they have proven their chemistry on record many times. They can’t get lazy with it though if it going to be a commercial release. It will have to push some boundaries from the basic rap sung collabos. Involving Ryan Leslie would be a key move on the production and musicality. If they were all serious about collectively making this album it would be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. What do you think?
