Trey Songz On Pace To Make R&B Chart History

Trey Songz is on pace for another big celebration. If his single “Can’t Be Friends” continues at the rate its going, the Virginia singer could top Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx and Maxwell for the longest running No. 1 song on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.

“Can’t Be Friends,” from Songz’s latest effort Passion, Pain, and Pleasure notched its thirteenth week at No. 1 on Thursday (Jan. 27), giving him a feat that only a few of R&B’s great have accomplished.

Lloyd Says King Of Hearts Is “Complete Baring Of His Soul”

Lloyd has been on a UK promo run for his upcoming fourth album King Of Hearts. The singer sat down with DJ Firestar to discuss the album, stating “It is just a complete baring of my soul, it’s just kinda me saying f**k it, Imma just leave it all out there and it’s kinda like a re-invention of myself and my art.” Lloyd goes on to talk about his unique style, what he loves to sing about, working exclusively with Polow Da Don on the album, the “Lay It Down” remixes and more. Chris Brown Single Artwork, F.A.M.E. Release Date

Here is the official artwork for Chris Brown’s new ‘urban’ single “Look At Me Now” featuring Lil’ Wayne & Busta Rhymes. The track will officially be released to digital retailers tomorrow, February 1st. In related news Breezy’s much anticipated new double album F.A.M.E. & Fortune has received an official release date. I wanna say first release date though, ya know its rare for dates to stand these days. However, it is set to hit stores March 22nd. Brown is already planning a worldwide tour in support of the album, which is supposedly kicking off in Australia. ‘Look At Him’ now!


Music: Akon – One More Time

Switching it up to the pop side. Worldwide star Akon is gearing up to release his euro-pop/dance/r&b album Stadium this year. A new uptempo dance track has surfaced titled “One More Time,” produced by David Guetta. A similar sound to other tracks, except this joint is kind of depressing. Do you really want to party to this theme? I don’t. Stay tuned for more on Akon’s new album.

Music: Bobby Brown – Get Out The Way [New Single]

R&B legend and pioneer Bobby Brown has had his share of troubles, most of which have been shared through the public eye. It was announced last year that Bobby was working on a return album, and his 5th to date. The project has been titled The Masterpiece, and he has supposedly already worked with Babyface, Teddy Riley, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and more. What has been labeled the first single from the set just surfaced online. It is a very solid, uptempo track titled “Get Out The Way”. Hopefully Bobby can put his addictions and troubles ‘out the way’ and return to a positive prominence. Check out his new record below. What do you think?

Music: Mint Condition – Caught My Eye [New Single]

Mint Condition, the chart-topping and globe-trotting R&B mainstay, who were discovered by music moguls Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, are back with a new album, their first since 2008. Recently signing to Shanachie Entertainment, the new LP is due out in April, just in time to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. Currently on tour with Prince the R&B super group has released the first single off the album, a smooth adult contemporary record titled “Caught My Eye”. Check it out below!
